2. Visiting the website – server log files

Each time this website is accessed, our hosting provider automatically stores data transmitted by your browser in so-called server log files:

• anonymised or shortened IP address
• date and time of access
• the file or URL requested
• amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
• referrer URL as well as browser type and operating system

This processing serves the technical delivery of the page, its stability and security, and the prevention of attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are deleted after 14 days at the latest, unless a security incident requires longer retention.

3. Cookies, tracking and analytics

This website deliberately avoids tracking. No analytics services, advertising networks, social-media trackers or marketing cookies are used, and no profiling takes place. Technically necessary cookies are only set where strictly required to operate the site.

4. Contacting us

If you contact us by email, we process your details (e.g. name, email address, message content) solely to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (responding to general enquiries). The data is deleted once it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. The Audara app

Audara is a client for your own Synology DiskStation or other servers you configure. The app is designed for data minimisation:

• Audara connects only to the server whose address or QuickConnect ID you provide yourself.
• Your credentials are stored exclusively on your device in the encrypted keychain – never transmitted to us.
• Library metadata and downloaded tracks remain on your device or your server.
• Audara uses no advertising IDs, no tracking SDK and no analytics tools.
• In-app purchases are handled entirely by the respective app store (Apple/Google); we receive only anonymised transaction status, no payment or profile data.

None of your music or usage data is transmitted to servers operated by Emanuel Schmacher e.U. or to third parties.

6. Recipients and hosting

The website is operated by a hosting provider that processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). We do not sell or pass on personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.

7. Retention period

We process personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention periods. The data is deleted thereafter.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

• access to the data stored about you (Art. 15)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
• erasure (Art. 17)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18)
• data portability (Art. 20)
• objection to processing (Art. 21)
• withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))

9. Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
